We’re looking for a proposal estimator to join our busy team.

The estimator’s role is to carry out and improve job pricing to enable the company to deliver an increasing workload to its clients.

 

Job Specification
Responsibilities:

• Reviews and collects data from enquiries/tenders
• Identifies labour, materials, time, travel costs and other data needed to complete the identified tasks. This may require site visits to review the job and collect meterages, dimensions, etc.
• Develops cost estimates
• Writes draft proposals for approval by the management team
• Aids preparation of invoices, specifically for norms based contracts
• Reviews jobs after completion to analyse variances between estimated values and achieved and feed back root causes
• Prepares and maintains a cost database to enable future jobs to be priced quickly and accurately
• Forecast future work by forward planning.

Ideally you will have experience within an engineering services environment.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
Essential

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic with can-do attitude.
• A valid full UK Driving Licence.
• Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable

• Experience in the Proposals process within a similar environment.

 

Working Environment:
This role will be based at our Head Office in Stockton-on-Tees supporting Axiom’s other offices (Grangemouth, Humber, Runcorn).

Salary: Negotiable – Staff position only
