Axiom scoop prestigious award in engineering excellence

Axiom Engineering Associates were named, “The Engineering Firm of the Year 2019” at the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) Annual Industry Awards Dinner 2019 held on January 18th at Hardwick Hall, Sedgefield, County Durham.

NEPIC is a dynamic industry-led cluster organisation which proactively engages to grow the process industries, businesses and associated supply chains across the North East of England and drive the local economy. This key event in the NEPIC calendar aims to champion the best and brightest successes within the industry.

The award for “The Engineering Firm of the Year 2019″ was made to a NEPIC member company who was able to clearly demonstrate business excellence from across the consultancy and engineering sector. The judging panel were focused on identifying an organisation who could demonstrate innovative and timely solutions to engineering problems and ‘best-in-class’ project delivery performance.

As winners, Axiom also received a cheque for £2000.00 to donate to a school of their choice, to fund a science related project. Local school, Ian Ramsey CE Academy based in Stockton on Tees was chosen as the lucky recipient of this donation.

Director Rob Johnson who collected the trophy on behalf of Axiom at the awards ceremony said,”This prestigious award reflects the ongoing commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by the Axiom team across the whole organisation. We strive for excellence and professionalism in everything we do and now to be formally recognised for our achievements by NEPIC means so much to us.

As a leading independent engineering consultancy specialising in Mechanical, Materials Engineering and Inspection & NDT, this award recognises that our capability in these areas are second to none along with our commitment to other key areas of our business including our people.

This award has given us an exceptional start to 2019 and we thank NEPIC for this opportunity to increase our visibility, maintain our momentum as we continue to grow whilst also supporting other NEPIC members in the supply chain to ensure the continued success of the regional economy.”

Christmas charity donation success for Axiom

As in previous years, rather than sending Christmas cards to all clients, Axiom Engineering Associates Ltd decided to make a donation for the sum of £1000.00 split between four separate charities nominated by employees. Although the selection of charity proved difficult, the organisations chosen to have the opportunity to receive funds were: The Guide for the Blind Association, National Eczema Society, MND Association and ME North East.

All recipients of this year’s Axiom Christmas e-card were then asked to vote on the charities named and the donation divided according to the number of votes received. With the votes counted and verified following the Christmas break, the results of the voting translated into the award of the following donations:-

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association: £320.00

National Eczema Society: £280.00

MND Association: £240.00

ME North East: £160.00

An additional sum of £50.00 was also donated to Zoes Place Baby Hospice, the charity selected by this year’s winner, Steve Gray of the Axiom winter image competition held at Guisborough Photo Group.

Rob Johnson, Director said,”We would like to thank everyone who participated in the voting. Strength of the voting along with feedback from our clients has clearly demonstrated the support for this Axiom initiative. This will remain one of our key charitable activities as part of our ongoing commitment to support the invaluable work carried out by both local and national charitable organisations.”
